From the seller

Offering a custom-built vintage 1930's-40's Style Ring/Spring Crystal Microphone. The 8 support springs acted as an early shock mount, helping reduce bumps and vibrations reaching the microphone. The early mics like this were carbon, sounded horrible, and required special gear to work. This one houses a crystal element that pumps out a strong signal, compatible with any modern gear, and at the same time still has a usable "throwback" sound quality that is typical of a bygone era. (Be sure to check out the voice sample recorded on this mic, on the listing video.) The U-Shaped "Ring" is vintage steel, about 7" x 7" , with the mic being a total height of 11", and is wired to a short pigtail cable with male XLR plug. ** WE BUY YOUR OLD MICROPHONES...INVENTORY UPDATED REGULARLY ** ** Competitive prices, fair shipping, great service!
