From the seller
Vintage Shure SM7 Dynamic Microphone – Rare 1984-1985 "Transition Era" (US Components)Up for auction is a rare, highly sought-after vintage Shure SM7 dynamic microphone. This is the authentic 1984–1985 "Transition Era" version, produced right as Shure transitioned assembly operations from Illinois to Mexico. As a true transition piece, it features a completely blank center text band and utilizes original, premium Made in U.S.A. internal components and capsule architecture. This short-run version is widely considered the rarest iteration of the original SM7 line and is prized by recording engineers for its exceptional warmth and smooth top-end clarity.
Important condition disclosure
One of the microphone’s stand/yoke mounting screw areas has been repaired.
The repair is not a factory repair and is not cosmetically original, but it is functional and allows the microphone to be mounted and used normally. Please see the close-up photos of the repaired area.
This is a mechanical mounting repair only and does not affect the operation or sound of the microphone.
