Current Compatibility Status
• Pro Tools Versions: Officially supported up through Pro Tools 12 via legacy hardware compatibility lists, but it is entirely untested and unsupported on modern Pro Tools (2020s releases and later).
• Operating Systems: Avid's last official standalone driver updates for the 3rd-gen Mbox Mini stop at older macOS and Windows versions (unstable/unsupported on modern Windows 10 updates, Windows 11, or recent macOS versions like Sonoma/Sequoia). Microsoft's and Apple's underlying core audio changes over the years mean older control panel software and drivers frequently cause crashes, garbled audio, or fail to recognize the device entirely.
• Third-Party DAWs: Because it relies on generic Core Audio (Mac) or ASIO (Windows) frameworks, it may occasionally show up as a basic audio device in other recording software, but performance and stability are not guaranteed.
