From the seller

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a unique 535 model dynamic microphone based on the more common Shure Brothers 525 and 530 models. All three were "Slendyne" types with dynamic elements. This particular 535 Dynamic microphone is equipped with the dual impedance switch and was a radical looking mic for Shure Brothers as it was intended as a hand held microphone and has the same overall design as the modern microphones used today. This early handheld mic was revolutionary for it's time. It was manufactured in Evanston, ILL in 1963. It should be noted that this mic has been tested and while still working the dynamic element is very weak and only about 15% of what it should be. This should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old Shure catalog I have along with it's basic characteristics. The 535 was one of Shure's first stick mics. The music scene was evolving and more musicians were holding their mics so the 535 was specifically designed for just that. It's a solid mic. Shure only sold this model to two companies of which was Dukane and this uber low production Demambro Sound Equipment Co example. I have only ever seen one other of these as Demambro didn't sell a lot of their mics in the time they were doing so. The 535 was sold from the mid 1950's to around the early 1960's before being discontinued and the mic utilized an adjustable impedance switch for both high and low setting. The switch works perfect for Low impedance. It does have an old school rockabilly sound and is omni-directional picking up a bit more background noise than a uni-directional mics of today. Again, non-working. This particular microphone was nicknamed the "Slendyne" for it's slender appearance and one of the first microphones made to fit comfortably in the users hand while singing or broadcasting. This 535 has virtually no wear as you can see. No dent's, fractures or engravings. The front screen is free of any odors or dents. A very nice looking mic overall. This mic has a very nice looking Shure label / badge and it's still completely legible. This mic is a solid 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. Mic also comes with an original all metal Shure A-25 mic clip that's in good physical and excellent working order so that you may mount this mic to any microphone floor or desk stand though a stand is provided. The clip shows typical lite wear but grips the mic firmly. MICROPHONE DESK STAND SEEN IS PART OF THIS SALE. The stand is a 1950's era Shure Brothers S-36 model microphone desk stand that's in very good overall condition and was the Evanston model so it would have been made somewhere between 1956 and 1960. The S-36 was the most common desk stand sold by Shure from the late 1930's to 1960 and could be used with almost all Shure model microphones utilizing the lower pistol grip. The S-36 is a lite weight design with a low center of gravity and a classic deco look that really compliments any Shure mic you mount on top. The S-36 was an all aluminum body being virtually corrosion proof and comes with an original blue grey painted finish and push to talk mechanism. The stand has the mic bolt and cable clamp. The 5 rubber pads are in very good shape. This S-36 is appx 2 1/2 inches tall X 5 inches wide X 7 inches deep. With the mic on top it's 12 inches tall when the head of the mic is raised up fully. The 535 on this stand is quite stunning and will look amazing anywhere it sits in the home, office or studio. An instant conversation piece. As with all my vintage microphones... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened and item relisted. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
