Studer A807 3 speed 2 track audiophile/studio reel to reel tape deck. SERVICED!

We are reeltoreeltech.com. We work on reel to reel tape decks all day long, from mono tube machines to 2" 24 track decks. We buy dead decks, and take in customer repairs. We are ATR and RTM dealers, and stock lots of tape as well. This is the Studer A807 3 speed, 1/2 track (2 track) deck, that was used both as a mastering deck, and a high end audiophile deck. It uses standard 1/4" wide tape. Whether you're playing audiophile tapes, bouncing tracks, or digitizing/playing old tapes , this is an excellent machine to do it with. As with all Studer decks, it's a 3 motor direct drive transport, with modular electronics for both the transport and the audio section. Studer is known for their ultra flat frequency responses, so what you send into the deck is exactly what it will reproduce. The deck runs at 3 3/4, 7 1/2, and 15 IPS. We picked two of these A807s up out of the US, and we believe they came out of a radio station. They'd been sitting unused for years, so they needed a bunch of work to get them going. We did the following work: -full recapping of all boards, including the 4 main stud mount filter caps for the power supply. All caps came from Mouser or Digikey, no no-name brand caps in our shop! -new pinch roller from Terry's. -4 new VU meter bulbs -cleaning of all switches and controls -replacement of all 4 motor bearings, with new SKB bearings installed -full calibration and adjustment of all gain, bias and eq controls, set for RTM 911 tape at +3db. -replacement of the pleather on the armrest -test run for 12 hours in all functions The deck is flat to past 20Khz at all 3 speeds, 3 3/4, 7 1/2 and 15 IPS. The heads have very low wear, and the fact that the deck can do 21Khz at 3 3/4 is amazing, very few decks can do that. Included with the deck are the silver trumpet style NAB adapters (we have black, blue, gold and red in stock if you prefer those colors instead), and a new 10" metal takeup reel. This deck is too large and heavy to go via courier, we will ship via truck, in a crate and on a pallet instead. The deck will be fully insured as well. The shipping quoted is worst case to the East Coast of the US, shipping in the West will be a bit less. We've quoted the price to a local truck dock (normally Forward Air) near you.
