From the seller
The Primacoustic RX7-HF Recoil Stabilizer is a speaker isolation platform that combines acoustic decoupling with mechanical stabilization to help studio monitors perform at their best. Unlike conventional foam isolation pads, the RX7-HF addresses both the transmission of cabinet vibrations into supporting surfaces and the unwanted movement of the speaker enclosure itself.
When studio monitors are placed directly on desks, stands, or meter bridges, cabinet vibrations can transfer into these surfaces, creating sympathetic resonances that compromise frequency response and stereo imaging. The RX7-HF uses a high-density urethane foam base to isolate the speaker from its supporting surface, reducing unwanted vibrations and their influence on the sound.
What sets the Recoil Stabilizer apart is its ability to control speaker recoil - the subtle front-to-back movement of the cabinet caused by the mechanical forces generated as the loudspeaker drivers operate. This effect can become more pronounced with larger monitors and at higher listening levels. While conventional foam pads provide isolation, their flexibility can allow additional cabinet movement.
To address this, the RX7-HF incorporates a heavy, laser-cut steel plate that adds mass and stability to the platform. Combined with the isolation base and a non-slip neoprene surface, this construction helps minimize cabinet movement while maintaining effective acoustic decoupling.
The result is improved transient definition, tighter and more controlled bass response, and more precise stereo imaging. By reducing unwanted mechanical interactions, the RX7-HF allows engineers to hear more of what their monitors are actually reproducing.
The RX7-HF features a flat, horizontal configuration, making it suitable for installations where the monitors are already positioned at the correct listening height and angle.
