From the seller

I am selling my stunning and mostly original vintage 1968 Fender Telecaster Precision Bass or Tele bass! This is not a reissue. This is an original bass from 1968! Although some might argue that it actually was the first unofficial reissue as it was the exact same bass as the 51 original with telecaster shaped headstock and big fat slab of ash body. But it was never built as a reissue. It was just called telecaster bass even though obviously the 51 was just called a precision bass obviously. This is a real original 1968 Fender Telecaster bass! This one happens to have an insanely stunning woodgrain on the original body. The bass is mostly original, except for a body only strip away and refinish probably back in the 70s, which revealed a very lucky piece of ash. The pickup was changed before I owned it to a Seymour Duncan antiquity, which sounds incredible but is obviously not the original pick up. The bass comes with a Fender avri reissue fender tweed deluxe hardshell bass case, but not original to the bass obviously. Although it’s still a nearly $200 case lol. Tuners work Perfectly. Tuners, bridge, saddles, body, neck, etc. all original save for the body only refinish and changed pickup. Can’t confirm if the pots are original or not. Some of these weigh 12 to 15 pounds and this one is right under 10 so it’s not light but it’s certainly not one of the heaviest ones of them either. It plays phenomenally with probably 60% of the frets left and the neck is straight as an arrow. The maple has aged beautifully. It’s definitely a stunner that plays even better than it looks and looks incredible with no excuses and no issues!!! I have many more pics than I can fit on here. Please message me for more if desired. Thank you for looking!
