About the Sennheiser MKH 8020 The Sennheiser MKH 8020 is a highly respected professional microphone, known for its exceptionally natural sound reproduction, extremely low self-noise, and outstanding performance in demanding recording environments. Its omnidirectional polar pattern and extended frequency response make it particularly suitable for capturing detailed acoustic environments and natural stereo recordings. Key Features Professional RF condenser microphone technology Omnidirectional polar pattern Extended frequency response: 10 Hz – 60 kHz Extremely low inherent self-noise High SPL handling capability Compact modular design Natural, detailed and transparent audio reproduction Excellent performance for acoustic music, ambience and field recording Rycote ORTF Windshield System The included Rycote ORTF windshield provides a complete professional stereo microphone mounting and wind protection solution. The suspension system reduces unwanted handling noise and vibrations, while the windshield basket and Windjammer provide effective wind protection for outdoor recording. The MKH 8020 microphones are omnidirectional, and the Rycote system uses an ORTF-format mounting arrangement. The resulting recording configuration is not the conventional cardioid ORTF pickup pattern.
